The possession of stainless steel appliances in your home does not only add functionality to the area where it is installed, it also adds elegance and beauty to that living space. Oftentimes, stainless steel household devices can be found in the dining area or in the kitchen. Most cooking devices look best in stainless steel exterior such as the microwave oven, the oven toaster, the air pot, the rice cooker, the electric stove, and other electronic cooking devices. Even the refrigerator looks best when it has a stainless steel exterior.

Yet, one of the most common problems of having stainless steel household devices is the presence of smears and blots of fingerprints and dirt on their surfaces. Wiping it with a wet cloth may not be enough as frequently doing so produces water markings on the surface of these appliances. The water markings usually appear to be white discoloration on the surface of the appliances making them look dull instead of shiny. What you can do to solve the problem of smears and blots of fingerprints and dirt on the surface of your stainless steel appliances is to use other techniques in cleaning.

Use of oil instead of water in the cloth that you will be using to wipe off surfaces is helpful in removing smears and blots without leaving any markings. In this task, baby oil can simply do the job. You can also use ethyl alcohol instead of oil in cleaning surfaces. This works similarly with oil but without the greasy feel afterwards. If you want to bring back the shine from the surface of your appliance, using vinegar in the wiping cloth is the best choice.
